ignoring-fingers-in-earsI am trying everything, so why am I still stuck?

This was the question I was asking myself over and over as I lay on my bed stuck on bed rest due to chronic pain.

That was a decade ago. I had been diagnosed with an illness, Costchondritis. The pain, which was only a pinprick type of sensation in my left rib area, had spread over time to all over my upper back within months. Despite all the medications, treatments, therapies, the pain only got worse. Nothing I tried worked. I dreaded to think that I was stuck with this pain and just had to live with it!

Luckily I stumbled into a tool online that I was able to use and completely heal my pain and my disease! Today my life is completely different. Not only am I at the peak of my health but, I am living the life I never dreamed possible! I now spend my days helping others break-free from pain and feel peace and clarity. It feels incredible and is deeply fulfilling.

Looking back on those years when I was suffering from chronic pain, I can clearly see the signs that had been alerting me and showing me that my life was completely off balance. But I had been ignoring those signs. Or rather I had no idea that these SIGNS were in any way connected to my physical pain. As I began to pay attention to them and releasing and letting go of the inner pain I was holding on to, I was completely free of my pain and disease.

So if you are in chronic pain and not getting any relief, I urge you to pay attention to these signs that are likely at the root of your chronic pain.

Here they are:

    1. You are going about your work life robotically. You wake up and go to your job because you have to even though you don’t particularly want to. You go about your daily routine mechanically, not really eager or excited. You don’t feel motivated and don’t feel that you are doing anything meaningful.  You would rather be doing something else if you had a chance. Going to work may feel suffocating and nauseating but you stick at it for the paycheck you get end of the month.

    1. You hide behind the ‘I’m Fine’ Mask – you pretend that all is fine as you go about your life. On the surface, everything looks fine. As you mingle around with others at work and they ask “how are you doing?” your immediate reply is “great!” or “fine!” Yet in your heart, mind and soul, nothing feels fine. In fact there is a deep ache that your life is drifting aimlessly and without purpose.

    1. You are ‘tolerating’ things in your life that stressing you out – Maybe you are stuck in a relationship that is draining you out, that you feel a disconnect from, or you do not feel loved and supported in a way that you want. Yet you quietly go about your life pushing these feelings aside. It could also be that you are sick of being in a limiting pattern or a limiting behavior that keeps repeating and you don’t know how to break free of it. You feel helpless and disappointed and stuck.

    1. You feel overly sensitive – you find that small things trigger you off. Sometimes small issues blow up into big volcanic arguments. You promise yourself this you will never let this happen again, and for a short while, all is smooth. Then out of the blue something triggers you again and you blast off in the same old way. And so this painful cycle of anger, shame, guilt and other negative feelings continues.

  1. You are waiting for something outside to shift – so you can feel better.  You feel like a helpless victim of your circumstances. You feel like you have no power to change anything. The ‘outside’ is controlling your life. And you are waiting for ‘them’ to understand, change or be different. Or waiting for ‘the situation’ to change, get better which results in disappointments and further frustrations.

In our search for relief from our PHYSICAL PAIN, we are often missing the INNER EMOTIONAL SIGNS that are alerting us to the PAIN we are feeling within. We tend to think that since the pain is PHYSICAL, the solution is something OUTSIDE of us.

However, after a decade on this journey, I can tell you that PAIN is simply a way your body communicates with you. It is telling you something is off-balance. Something WITHIN.

Therefore you need to start paying attention to the INNER PAIN that you may have been ignoring. It is said that to change the fruits you are getting in life, you need to tend to the roots. And if you ignore that, you will not achieve lasting relief.

There are various way to let go of the inner pain. My favorite is Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT TAPPING). If you want to learn more about it, visit my website www.magicalpainfreeliving.com

Do the above signs resonate with you?  Are you willing to spend some quiet time and really acknowledge the pain you have been ignoring? Is it time to let go?
