Hey,
Interestingly, this month I found myself inspired to deepening and strengthening my spiritual practices to stay more firmly grounded in my spirit and make steady progress towards my dreams. I find that as I keep stepping up to my new desires and saying YES! to ALL my dreams, big or small, personal or professional, and with so much "distraction" and "noise" out there, it's easy to get overwhelmed, frustrated and lose focus.
So this month I dove deeper into daily meditations increasing them from once a day to twice daily, morning and evening. I am journaling more, clearing mental and emotional dirt daily, appreciating more and focusing on being present fully every day! Thanks to these practices, life feels wonderful and I feel in alignment with my dreams.
What are your strategies to keep yourself firmly grounded and focused on your priorities?
Be mindful of where your energy is focused and how you spend your time so you can make steady progress towards your dreams and goals!
For now, check out this month's article on goals and dreams inspired by recent impromptu visit to an island.
To your continued success,

On a Rowboat Or Speedboat to Your Dreams?

On A Rowboat or
Speedboat to Your Dreams? |
Recently I did a day trip to an island with my family. Since we had only ONE day, we wanted to get to the island quick and safe so we could have lots of time there. We had to choose between taking the slow ferryboat, which would cost us very little but get us to the island in 2 hours 30 minutes one way (and the same amount of time back)! Or take a speedboat, way more expensive, but get us there in 20 minutes. We chose the speedboat of course and had a relaxing, fun memorable time on the island!
This experience reminded me of our own unique journeys to the island of our dreams and goals. And I want to ask you: are you on a slow boat? or a speedboat to the island of your dreams? Do you find that you are:
- Taking way too long moving forward to the island of your dreams?
- Feeling frustrated as you find yourself struggling while others are moving past you with speed?
- Putting your full energy and yet not making any significant progress?
- Feeling overwhelmed, drained and exhausted instead of feeling thrill and fun?
- Wondering if you will ever get there?
If this is you, maybe it's time to pause, reflect and choose a different way!
It is quite natural to experience bumps, challenges, delays on the journey to your dreams. Your challenges are there to help you learn and grow and acquire skills and confidence as you go along. However, there comes a time when you've done the best you can and not reached where you hoped to, and a different approach needs to be adopted.
As Albert Einstein defines insanity as " doing the same thing and hoping for a different result!"
I've been in this situation of struggling to get to my dreams more than a couple of times. Despite all the ‘tools' I had, I found myself not reaching my goals. Over time I have learned that when I find myself in this cycle, it's time to jump out of my own slow boat and opt for a speed boat instead.
Why?
Because I recognize that my physical life on planet earth is short and limited and I definitely want to feel more fun, joy in the island for my dreams than feel pain and struggle and spend my life getting there!
THE SPEEDBOAT CAN HAVE VERY VALUABLE BENEFITS!
- Picking a speedboat with a reliable expert will increase your chances of getting to your dream island!
- Since the expert has traversed these waters many times, he or she knows how to maneuver the bumps that are sure to come up on the way!
- You can read success stories of other travelers who have reached their island of dreams when you decide on which speedboat (training, mentor, program) to pick!
- Your ride can be a lot more fun and thrilling moving at a faster pace instead of being a long slow and hard struggle
- Having support can only keep your spirits high and help you stay on course to your dreams
- Who knows what other valuable tips and tools you may learn along the way that will further enhance your journey!
So If you have been on the slow boat for a while, and you aren't making any significant progress, here are some key questions to ask yourself:
- Is it my time now to switch to a speedboat?
- How ready am I to move really forward and live my dreams? (0-10 scale)
- What is staying stuck here costing me? (in my relationship, my health, quality of my life, my work, my emotional well being? etc.)
- How much more am I willing to ‘wait' before I take action (a week, a month, a few years)?
- How much do I value getting to the island of my dreams and spending more time there than staying stuck here? (0-10 scale)
- Is it worth it to invest in getting help (which is truly an investment in living your own dreams) and live the life I want?
The journey to your dreams depends on choices you are making today. The question really isn't about whether the change you want is possible or not. There is ALWAYS a way, a solution.
The question is are you ready? Will you make a different choice? Will you take a stand?
Know that your dream life is a decision away!
